TREAD BOXES
This project has been the most quite rewarding. I began with a beautiful set of aluminum treadboxes fabricated by Norman Sockwell. My task has been to attach the cast aluminum side panels manufactured by G. Meunier, raise the height of the upper wheels, add the radius to the tread bays, and add a bead of welding material to the upper fold of the boxes.

Phase One: Rounding corners

Phase Two: Adding weld

Phase Three: The tools used to sand the welds

Phase Four: The result of six hours' work, and the distressing story of raising the top wheels
