Buster Keaton (who also co-wrote and directed) stars
as a young husband who assembles a prefabricated house
next to a railroad depot for his bride during the first
six days of their marriage. Unfortunately, the directions
are sabotaged by her spurned suitor leading to hilarious
results.
Sundown Ltd.
(1924) 26 minutes
Starring Our Gang. Mickey and the gang are having a
blast playing in the railroad yard. After getting kicked
out for taking a train on a wild ride, they decide to
build one of their own. Their new dog-powered wonder is
one of the most ingenious and elaborate contraptions ever
seen in an Our Gang film! Jealous Toughy's continuous
attempts to wreck it eventually send the gang and
their train careening through the streets of Culver City!
For this occasion,
entry is through the Pardee carriage house on 12th
Street.

The Royal Society Jazz Orchestra has
performed at the famous Gatsby Summer Afternoon for
over twenty years, and each year it becomes more
interesting and fun. Patrons get into the spirit of
the 1920s with music, dancing, period attire,
picnics, cars, and imagination. Rolling hills, vast
green lawns, oak trees, wooded paths, and charming
Dunsmuir House provide the perfect setting for a
memorable experience. Special guest Tom Bopp will
sing with the band, as well as Frederick Hodges,
Carla Normand, Don Neely, and Andrew Storar.
